Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’ve seen your website, how do I arrange a visit?

Give us a call or click on the contact us page and discuss a visit by scheduling an appointment.  As we provide care 24/7, we are happy to receive calls throughout the day or night.

  • What sort of care do you offer?

We provide personal care to the elderly aged 65+ including people with dementia; we strive to create an atmosphere of friendliness and security. We aim is to have our residents live happily which we achieve through our core values.

  • Will I have a choice of meals for my loved one?

We offer a menu with different meals weekly to ensure residents are eating fresh and healthy. On top of this, residents that have a special diet can be serviced by our chefs to meet all special dietary needs. For example, residents with diabetes will have the choice of soup over a dessert. Families can provide information on what consumable goods their residents can, can’t, or should have.

  • What sort of activities do you provide?

We provide countless activities that help the residents to ensure their brain is active as well as keep fit. Our activities coordinator organizes games and group sessions that all residents are welcome to join in. Some of these include board games, skittles, drawing, puzzles, crafting, group discussions, dancing, garden BBQs, themed parties, and more!

  • Will I know if care needs increase and what to do if so?

Yes, to ensure we provide quality personal care we monitor the residents and create both a physical and virtual folder in which we update their day-to-day habits and health. If a resident is shown to need nursing home care, we will discuss the situation with the residents' family and provide all necessary requirements to make the move as efficient and trouble-free as possible.

  • Does every resident receive a care plan?

Residents at LaLuzs are assessed prior to admission to ensure they receive the care best suited for their needs. The family or friends' help in assessing the resident would be greatly helpful but is not necessary. An individual care plan is then created on our system records which set out how staff will meet your needs as well as the residents' involvement in our activities, socialising with both staff and other residents, and daily routine.

  • Can we bring in items from our loved ones home?

Yes.  We want your loved ones to have familiar surroundings so we encourage residents to hang photos, bring their most cherished possessions, and make their room theirs.  Any games, books, or other items you would like to bring for your loved one or share with the other residents will gladly be accepted.

  • Will you be able to support my loved one who is very religious?

Yes. Religious and spiritual beliefs will be respected by our team members. If any meals need to be adjusted to fit their beliefs, it can be done. If there are any religious groups they wish to attend or maintain contact with, we will do our best to make sure this happens.

  • I have other questions I would like to ask, what can I do?

Please do visit our contacts page to ask us directly by calling or send us an email regarding your question. You can also email us through our "Get in touch" section on our home page. All emails will be answered ASAP.
